How many times should I try to follow up or contact a lead?

Persistence is key when it comes to following up with leads.

If you want a really successful campaign, you must have staying power when following up with new leads.

Your first method of contact should always be to call them as soon as possible.

Don't get caught in the trap of thinking it's just quicker and easier to go straight to sending a text and not make the effort of calling first.

Never underestimate the power of having a human voice - a genuinely interested person speaking with the lead. A personal touch never fails to impress.

(By the way, don't forget to mention their name once or twice in the conversation and do pay close attention to what they're saying - it will go a long way to building the person to person connection that you want).

However, once you've tried to call that first time and the patient doesn’t pick up then:
  • Send a quick text to follow up on your call attempt.
  • Try calling again later in the day or the next morning.
  • Aim to make 6-8 attempts to contact each lead.
  • Spread your follow up over the period of about a week, using a combination of phone calls/texts/WhatsApp messages before writing them off.
Most of the time, they'll get back to you.

Don't worry about being annoying, because they did fill out the form asking for an appointment in the first place.

So you have every right to call them to confirm the appointment!

We have a great resource all about exactly what to say in texts and on WhatsApp called Text/WhatsApp Message Templates.
